Over 200 Saved and Dozens Baptized at Roofing Convention in ‘Special Move of the Holy Spirit’

Early January 2026 — Oklahoma City, Okla. More than 200 attendees at the RoofCon roofing convention responded to a Gospel presentation by evangelist Clayton King and professed salvation, with dozens baptized immediately afterward on the convention floor, in what participants described as a special move of the Holy Spirit.

The event, organized by RoofCon founder Hunter Ballew, drew scores of roofing industry professionals for business networking, insights and skill development. Ballew invited King, pastor and founder of Crossroads Camp in Anderson, South Carolina, after feeling led by the Holy Spirit to use the platform for evangelism, according to a CBN News report.

Gospel Presentation and Response

King, who has preached the Gospel for nearly 40 years, shared the simplicity of salvation and assurance of being born again. Attendees filled horse troughs with water from a nearby Tractor Supply store for impromptu baptisms, which were optional but widely embraced.

“What I really sensed the Holy Spirit directing me [was] to share the simplicity of the Gospel and how a person can actually know that they are born again,” King said.

“They came, and it was just a really special move [of] the Holy Spirit.”

Ballew had expressed to King, “[I’d love to meet you. I have really been impressed by the Holy Spirit that I [need] to use my roofing convention as a platform to reach people with the Gospel].”

Sign of Broader Awakening

King viewed the response as part of a larger spiritual awakening, citing rising Bible sales, increased church attendance among Gen Z and men, and a societal hunger for faith amid secularism’s failures.

“Awakening, for me, when I think of it categorically, is when lost people are hearing the Gospel and responding,” King stated.

“I believe secularism has promised meaning and purpose, and it’s failed… We need morality. We need faith. We need family. We need values.”

King anticipated further developments in this awakening, praying for a harvest based on the organizers’ faith.

“I’m always amazed when I see one person or 1,000 people respond to the Gospel, but at the same time I’m never really surprised at the power of the Gospel to draw people to salvation.”

RoofCon is billed as the nation’s top roofing conference. Video footage and photos of the event were shared on social media.
