Salvation Army USA Southern Territory Announces ‘Radical Faith’ Theme for 2026 Bible Conference at Lake Junaluska

March 13, 2026 — Lake Junaluska, N.C. The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory has unveiled the theme “Radical Faith: Not By Might” for its 74th annual Bible Conference, scheduled for August 9-15, 2026, at the Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center. The event aims to foster deeper faith through biblical teaching, worship, fellowship, and spiritual development, drawing from Zechariah 4:6.

The conference kicks off a three-year series on radical faith, continuing with “Nor By Power” in 2027 and “But By My Spirit” in 2028. It invites officers, soldiers, families, friends, youth, and young adults to the scenic mountain setting, which promotes renewal away from daily distractions.

“We’re excited to invite you to join us once again in the beautiful mountains of Lake Junaluska for Bible Conference 2026,” says Roberta Simmons-Smith, territorial director of special events. “We’re excited to kick off our three-year ‘Radical Faith’ journey. Stay tuned for more announcements about special guests and speakers. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Related Christian Gatherings

In a thematically similar event focused on discipleship and church growth, the Growing Church Conference, held February 9-12, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in San Diego, gathered Korean American United Methodist pastors. Keynotes emphasized healthy relationships, intentional disciple-making, and spiritual renewal, with speakers like Rev. Ken Suhr addressing the “DNA of a Growing Church.”

“This year, we wanted to question what we mean by ‘growth,’” said Rev. Gyu Hyun Kim. “Are we talking about numbers alone? Or are we talking about becoming a community that reflects the life of Christ?”
